Did you know that the first Thanksgiving meal included Lobster, Seal, and Swan!
For so many reasons, Thanksgiving has always been a special holiday to me. Not only is it the unofficial kickoff to the most magical time of the year, Christmas, but it’s also a great reason to bring the families together.
As you may know, I am Mexican, and Mexicans tend to have large families. So having 15 guests at our dinner table felt just like home! The only difference is that there weren’t any Tamales and Champurrado!
But there was one thing that felt the same, and that was the joy and love and laughter the filled the halls of our home. Everywhere I looked there were labors of love at play. Whether it was Jenny’s father, Bob, setting the dinner table, or Jenny’s mother, Susan, teaching us a thing or two about party pre-pre, family love was on display.
This Thanksgiving was very special in particular because it was the blending of three families. And for that, I am thankful.
